I am emailing to formally notify you that your application to rejoin the Liberal Democrats has been refused by both the South East Regional Party and your local party. We appreciate that you have received some automated emails that might have suggested that your membership was accepted, including the invitation to join the Campaign Hub and the “What’s new with the Lib Dems” email.
This is NOT the case. As your membership has been rejected, your fees will be refunded to you. Your membership application has been refused on the grounds of inappropriate communications to local and regional party officers when you were last a member in October 2022.
Any person whose membership is refused does have a right of appeal, which must be made in writing within 14 days of the applicant being advised of the refusal to admit, and which shall be dealt with in accordance with the guidance published under Article 23. Participation in the Party's Registered Supporter Scheme may be refused by the Federal People Development Committee on the grounds set out in (a) and (b). The only right of appeal shall be pursuant to Article 22 on any matter relating to the interpretation of this Constitution.”
